Turns out you need to enable the “Promiscuous” mode on the switches.

    All working.

Went back to beta14 and now have the following working:

Zeroshell Bridge: can ping machines on the LAN side, ping the internet.
PC: On LAN can ping Zeroshell, obtain IP address from internet router DHCP but cannot ping router or internet.

    Cheers

what type of VM you are using? You use a one switch to connect all? it would be nice to see the scheme…….

    Hi Tinky-Winky,

Here goes a crude ASCII drawing. I’m using Vmware’s ESXi hypervisor.

    LAN VM switch 2 <

Each VM switch is utilising its own NIC. And the 2 NICs are on independant networks.

Let me know if you need more info.

Good to hear it is working for you.

Looking at the files in beta 15, it seems that Fulvio still has not incorporated my patch. I’ve got a cut at it, it looks pretty much like the one for beta 14, but will be unable to test it until at least this weekend. Actually, if my bleary eyes are not deceiving me, the beta 15 version of the patch should be exactly the same as the beta 14 version.

Thats good news that patch should work. I was going to run up the new version in my dev environment this week.

Don’t understand why the patch is not included, its such a great product otherwise.

    Hi All,

After comparing the various files and the patches by atheling, I have managed to modify the files for b14 so they handle QoS and Netbalancing in the same way that the original b13 ones do. Alot of the files had been re-writen by fulvio to suite the new version of Zeroshell.

I have done limited testing on the patches but they seem to work for me on 2 Ethernet based internet connections.

    These are the patched files.

Happy for other people to try them out.

I’m using 2 ethernet WANs via DMZed routers. As I said I have only briefly tried it.
The patch put the right packets in the QoS classifiers. I thought I’d checked the WAN failover but I will double check this.
    Thanks for the heads up.

I used the pre-patched files from a b13 installation and this seems to work
I have only tested it briefly.

If you need help wit the patch let me know.

    Cheers

Quick update: from my initial testing it looks as though the QoS/Netbalancer patch/fix has NOT been included in this update.
Good news the current patch/fix can still be used.
