do you get anything in dmesg when you do the modprobe? Note that modprobe will only load the driver, it probably won’t show up in the UI, etc since the name will be wrong.

I just wanted to add my findings for getting ZeroShell to boot from HD on my Dell PowerEdge 1750 with the PERC 4/Di controller. I used the information from this thread:
    http://www.zeroshell.net/eng/forum/viewtopic.php?t=886&highlight=initrd

and then I updated it for the megaraid/LSI controller instead by copying megaraid/megaraid_mm.ko into the sata/deps folder and megaraid/megaraid_mbox.ko into sata/chipsets. Just for reference, the megaraid.ko file in the drivers/scsi folder isn’t used. According to the linuxrc script each file in the deps folder is insmod probed first, followed by the chipsets folder. Since insmod doesn’t try to load dependent modules it will fail if both are put in the same folder (deps).

I also have this issue, I tried to modify router_patconfig with the suggestion above, but it still doesn’t work.

I think it would be just AWESOME if next to each virtual server you have a checkbox that says “Reflection” (or hairpin) and if you check it ZS will create the 2? extra iptables commands to allow access to the WAN ip port forwards from the internal range.

Ah, thanks for the quick reply. That’s ok, I just added it to the client side config for now.

I’d like to be able to specify the public ip when setting up virtual servers so that I can have port 80 on each public ip go to different internal servers. Is that possible?

    Thanks,

I’m all for a Buildroot-ng build environment as I’d love to be able to run ZeroShell on different embedded hardware like Linksys boxes (if they will have enough memory that is of course).

    Hi,

I have the exact same problem. My goal with ZeroShell was to set up a VPN server for my Windows users, but I can’t install any additional software on the users’ machines (OpenVPN) so I wanted to go with IPSec/L2TP, but I get the same error as above. Also it says that NAT-T is broken in beta9, do you know when it will be fixed?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I looked at that project and it’s just to optimize (compress) communication between two TrafficSqueeze boxes, not optimize internet traffic in general.
