    Hello,

I’v written an update script for ZS Box installed trought CF image (like Alix and Soekris, or USBIDESATA image), it can be used on live remote system, wo the need to physically reach it.

I hope that w’ll be usefull:

    cd /Database
    wget http://upload.it-connect.it/user_upload/users/Max/web/zeroshell/zeroshell-b13tob14.sh
    sh zeroshell-b13tob14.sh

… why would you want a mail server built into a router? …

Because some of us use it in a private/personal environment where we want to have an all-in-one solution.
If it is done like the other modules all the other ppl do not need to activate this feature.

The …com link in the first post is definitely dead, but the .net link (http://www.orquideadesign.net/SMB12_beta1.tar.bz2) works well.

I haven’t tried but would suggest to add “noatime” to /etc/fstab

    For example:

    /dev/sda1 /boot ext3 noauto,noatime 1 1
    /dev/sda2 / ext3 noatime 0 0
    /dev/sda3 none swap sw 0 0

(Fulvio please correct me if I’m wrong)

As far as I know Fulvio will publish an external package for SAMBA in the near future.

    this should be root@zeroshell chiavetta> gunzip -c zeroshell.img.gz > /dev/hda

because /dev/hda is your harddrive and /dev/hda1 is only the first partition on your harddrive.
You MUST put the image on the entire harddrive not on one particular partition !!!
I checked the mentioned installation instructions which definitely says HDA and not HDA1.

    Hope this helps!

    Very interesting!!!

    But a few questions:

    – Do you know if this also works with other HUAWEI USB modems (e.g. E270)?

    – Where can I get the huaweiaktbbo program?

    – Is your pppd script a single line script and where to put it on my zeroshell?

BTW I will try this as soon as my questions are answered.

    Hi Fulvio,
I am using T-Mobile (Austria) UMTS Modem (http://shop.t-mobile.at/2116510010/1_1_3_5/cc83240d58473ff40713ce1dbd1e8fda/10011/index.html&intTab=1) and would REALLY appreciate being able to use it on a ZEROSHELL Box at home as this is my only internet connection and I have to share it with my wife.

    Greetings from Austria
