MemberThis is the first crash that has happened, using ZS1.0b12. Just all of a sudden after 105 days of uptime, i could not ping the management ports, and all traffic passing through the bridged interface halted.
CPU is a dual core 2.83 E8300, 3gigs of ram, using the dd method to a hard drive. It’s been up and running great, then stopped passing traffic. I do have an Interface Masters N2265 pci-express card, that I had to compile the driver on a dev. box to get the bypass feature working. I thought maybe it was that, but the seperate NIC for management even stopped responding.
Its not on a KVM, so i couldn’t get into the console at the time. But a reboot fixed the issue, waited for it to come up, then everything started working.
I got about 56 firewall rules, that are basic, this src ip, after this many connections, drop. I got about 24 classes on both interfaces and 58 classifiers, to create the up/download for the ips/subnets, and some misc qos rules. The ZS box does strictly QoS, no other DNS or anything else. It just happened this morning.

MemberThe load is usually around 1%, ram around 138megs, connections between 32k and 65k (32,000 – 65,000), and bandwidth usually around 100megs down by 25megs up.

MemberI had this in the post boot script:
# Startup Script
echo “3600” > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_conntrack_tcp_timeout_established
echo “1048576” > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_conntrack_max
echo 134217728 > /proc/sys/kernel/shmall
echo 134217728 > /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax
cd /Database/niagara2265_r10/;./n2265_load;./n2265_util -a;./n2265_util -0
ethtool -K ETH02 tso on;ethtool -K ETH03 tso onhad to make the 3600 for the tcp timeout, otherwise connections would build up, and tank the box. Raised the maximum conntrack max, adjusted the paging as someone else on here stated worked well for them, loads the driver, adds a heartbeat, and changes it to active/bypass mode, then turns on TSO for both of ther interfaces.

MemberCould be a hardware error. It would be helpful to check the screen for possible kernel panic. Another thing that comes into my mind is to remove the swap, you have 3GB ram, it is more than necessary.

MemberUpdate:
The box crashed again since the last post. A monitor and keyboard was connected at the time of crash. No video display working on monitor. Keyboard caps-lock key and num-lock don’t light up on a PS2, and same for a USB keyboard. The bridge NIC’s activity lights are off, not on or flashing at all, and the 3com management NIC activity light is lit up.
The kernel log stated this:
11:10:05 ETH03: Link is Down
11:10:05 ETH02: Link is Down
11:21:22 input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input/input0
11:27:24 hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3
11:38:41 hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 3When the bridge nic went down, a monitor and keyboard was connected, looks like it tried to see the PS2 and USB keyboards. No other kernel entries since then, must be a hardware issue somewhere then…
