You should read the faq http://www.zeroshell.net/eng/faq/storage/#sto.faq1

    Hi,
I’ve tried to follow the FAQ regarding installation on HD, but I’m having truble with the GunZip-files. Both Windows and Linux claims the file is not GunZip-format or is damaged. I’ve tried several of the files in the download area with no success.
Am I stupid or is the files corrupted in some way?

    Sorry guys.
Seems I was to quick on this one. As “murray654” in an other topic, I used Windows to download and it fails.
But when downloading to a Linux-server it works. Don’t know why it is so.

So, the workaround for now is to download to a linux-based computer.

The solution in the FAQ results in a kernel panic if you try this on SATA disks…

It complains about compact flash should only be on /dev/hda …
any suggestions for this ? 🙂

With the current releases of Zeroshell you cannot boot a system if the compactflash or the Hard Disk is not attached to the primary master IDE controller. If you want to solve the problem by yourself, you have to change the linuxrc script in the initrd file that is stored into /boot directory.
