I am thinking of building a router using Zeroshell. I want to use my router as a repeater bridge (whereby my router will connect wirelessly to a primary router and clients connect wirelessly to my router — see http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Image:Repeater_Bridge.jpg for a diagram). Can anyone confirm that Zeroshell supports this configuation? Any problems?

The problem seems to be that Zeroshell supports only the madwifi driver for Wifi. The madwifi developers have declared that driver “legacy” and have turned their attention to ath5k (see http://madwifi-project.org/wiki/About/MadWifi?redirectedfrom=MadWifi). Thus, the madwifi driver does not support recent chips, such as the AR9285 in my system. I suppose that legacy mini pci e cards used Atheros chips supported by madwifi, but it seems counterproductive to replace my Wifi card with legacy hardware.
