AFAIK, Linux kernels usually list SATA drives as /dev/sdx

Since kernel version 2.6.19 (released 29. Nov 2006) SCSI, SATA and SAS disks are named /dev/sd* and IDE disks are named /dev/hd*, where * is a wildcard for a letter (character) in both cases.
