Hi, is there anyone able to forward to a parent proxy not only the http traffic but also the https traffic? ZS is configured with captive portal + transparent proxy and HAVP is proxying http traffic to a parent proxy defined in havp.conf but, and this is the problem, https traffic is routed directly to the gateway.

    Thanks

I don’t use the captive portal feature of Zeroshell so I am far from an expert.

However, if you were able to proxy HTTPS any decent browser should be ringing all of the alarm bells it has about detecting a “man in the middle” attack. HTTPS is supposed to provide end to end security by, among other things, verifying that the certificate of the point the browser is connected to is indeed the machine it is claiming to be (not a proxy) and that the certificate is signed by a trusted certificate authority.

So I’d be very surprised if you can successfully proxy HTTPS on Zeroshell or any other device.
