It would be a great thing if you incorporate Squid as transparent a Proxy Cache. I believe it is something we all are expecting. It will save time and the spread of the Wide Band. The net traffic would be a lot faster.
I´m using another PC between the ZS and the Modem to use it as a Proxy Web Cache, but it does not works as good as i would like it to do.
Anyhow, ZS is a great application, and congratulate Fulvio for it. 8)March 27, 2008 at 10:27 pm #46229
Do I guess that yet again the load balancer has not been implemented??
Can you give me a timescale on this as you were going to implement it in Beta 4 or 5 !!!March 27, 2008 at 11:10 pm #46230
You are right, but probably you will have the net balancer in one of the two next releases. Before the summer I hope.

(Sorry if this is a newbie question.) How do I know HAVP / ClamAV is working? I tried downloading eicar and zs lets the file through. Blacklists and whitelists seem to work as expected.
I’m running on ALIX2.March 31, 2008 at 8:33 pm #46232
Enable the logging of any URL in the proxy and then check the logs to understand if the http requested are transparently captured.

I think my problem is my ALIX board ran out of memory. I never noticed that zs requires 256 MB of RAM. I was running on ALIX2C0 with 128 MB.
Will try getting a new board to try.April 5, 2008 at 7:29 am #46234
Very strange, because I have successfully tested HAVP/ClamAV on a WRAP with 128MB of RAM. It works fine, but the performances are not very high. Alix boards, instead, have much better performances.April 12, 2008 at 10:38 am #46235
I am going to install the zeroshell on an alix 2. Now that i will buy the hardware new, i would like to buy a CF with more than 1GB. Can i install the 1GB image on a CF with 2 or 4 GB and use the resting space ?April 12, 2008 at 2:41 pm #46236
yes, you can. The compact flash size needs to be at least 1GB.

Wish for the next version:
ClamAV 0.93 because of speed improvements and security vulnerability:
or does it upgrade automatically?April 20, 2008 at 9:49 pm #46238
In order to increase the stability of the proxy server with antivirus you should install the update I have prepared by using the following shell commands:
tar xvfj A500-proxy-1.0.beta9.tar.bz2
The releases of ClamAV and HAVP have been updated and a small swap file is created in order to avoid the Out of Memory condition and the action of OOM-Killer.

Again, there are a ClamAV update available to 0.93.1:
4 patches are released since 1.0.beta9
It’s time to update to 1.0.beta10 ?
