    maybe I’m just being a bonehead about this, and i’m missing something obvious in my krb5.conf, but I cant seem to access kadmin from a client machine.

    I can kinit no problem, get a ticket, no prob.

    but I keep getting this when I try to kadmin:
    kadmin: Missing parameters in krb5.conf required for kadmin client while initializing kadmin interface

    I’m a bit of a noob, when it comes to kerberos.

    If anyone can take a look at my krb5.conf I’d much appreciate any help on this……I’ve tried everything for the “admin_server” setting. nothing seems to work. hmmmmm……I’m a bit stumped….

    thanks for any help!!!!!

    [realms]

    kdc = example.com
    admin_server = kadmin.example.com
    default_domain = example.com
    }

    [domain_realm]
    .example.com = EXAMPLE.COM
    example.com = EXAMPLE.COM

    krb4_convert = true
    krb4_get_tickets = false

    for admin_server I have tried

    kerberos.example.com
    example.com
    kadmin.example.com
    zeroshell.example.com
    admin.example.com

    etc
    etc

    PS, this is all happening withing a LAN environment, simply for testing purposes. zeroshell handling local DNS, for example.com
