    Hard disk installation on a DELL poweredge fails. The disks are SATA but are behind a SCSI controller. These IDE devices will not be found if you scan the bus for /dev/hdXX but if we load the SCSI driver and scan for /dev/sdxx during init you will find them. The strange thing is that initial Grub still finds the disk and gives you the boot menu. The question is can the IDE image be forced to look for /dev/sd..
