    I just downloaded and installed ZeroShell and it looks really great. Very impressive!

    I do have a question: I want to create a firewall rule to allow ssh connections into my ZeroShell server. In order to make things real simple, I created a rule which descripion (after creating it) reads:

    ACCEPT tcp opt — in * out * -> tcp dpt:22

    After saving the changes, I am still unable to connect via SSH. (SSH Error message: Connection refused.) BTW: this rule was created under the “INPUT” chain.

    Pretty sure I am doing something wrong… can anyone help?

    I am not aware if zeroshell runs a ssh server , so you might me getting this error because of it. Sorry I might be wrong here as i don’t have the machine with me at present.

    You should enable the sshd daemon by running the script
    /etc/init.d/ssh start
    After that you have to set the root password by typing the command
    passwd. In any case is better if you restrict the ssh access only from your LAN by using the INPUT chain of the firewall.

    In all my enthusiasm I assumed that SSH would be running…

    Thanks for the replies!
