I tested it with eicar.org and it was working perfectly. Then I installed DansGuardian as per instructions from http://www.zeroshell.net/listing/BA00-DansGuardian-Web-Content-Filter-188.8.131.52-1.0.beta11.tar.bz2. Now HAVP is not working. I tried to restart it several times but it stays DOWN. Please help. Thanks. November 5, 2008 at 3:55 pm #47072 uniquegodwinMember Hi, Why would you need both dans guardian and HAVP? Both are http proxies…It wouldnt improve anything even if both worked together…it would only slow down your connection and make things worse. Cheers!! 🙂 November 6, 2008 at 2:40 am #47073 atharmahboobMember Please visit http://zeroshell.net/eng/proxy-antivirus/ and http://zeroshell.net/eng/patch-details/. HAVP and DansGuardian are different things. They work in conjunction. I need help in troubleshooting the HAVP service. Where are the configuration files and startup scripts for it so that I can test the problem it is having in starting. Check this.. http://bugs.endian.it/view.php?id=160 It’s probably a problem when you install both in linux. I know they’re 2 different things…but i meant the term “proxy”…http trafffic goes through dans guardian just as it does through havp, right? I think dans guardian just has more options like content filtering… but, well, smooth wall had both the options of http proxy and dans guardian…perhaps you’re right…i’m not too sure. HAVP did keep saying it was down until I did a reboot though. Author Posts Viewing 5 posts - 1 through 5 (of 5 total) You must be logged in to reply to this topic.
