First, I’d like to say it’s a great product. I’m using it as a virtualized primary DNS server, and another as a slave. However, I have run across two problems that I just can’t resolve on my own. It might be due to a lack of understanding on my part.
In one or your other posts, you told someone to add a CNAME record under the ‘@’ record to resolve a ‘domain.name’ query. It works fine on the primary, but I get an error in the log of the slave as follows:
20:05:07 transfer of ‘dvc.edu/IN’ from 10.29.50.4#53: connected using 10.29.50.5#4222
20:05:08 transfer of ‘dvc.edu/IN’ from 10.29.50.4#53: failed while receiving responses: CNAME and other data
20:05:08 transfer of ‘dvc.edu/IN’ from 10.29.50.4#53: end of transfer
When I remove the record, it works fine.
Is this a bug, or am I misunderstanding how this is supposed to work? Is there a workaround?
