hi thank for the responce, i did as you suggested and as long as the vpn was idle there was no issue.

unfortunatley when i used the vpns there seems to be no mechanism on the local side to process the data quick enough and its just gets clocgged up and this forces the vpn down onces its hit critical mass.
i put this in to proove my theory to myself :

# Bash script: drop_cACHES-Cron
#!/bin/bash
sync ; echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
sync ; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches &
sleep 3
sync ; echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
sync ; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches &
sleep 3
sync ; echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
sync ; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches &
sleep 3
sync ; echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
sync ; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches &
sleep 3
sync ; echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
sync ; echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches &
sleep 3
sync ; echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches

sleep 3
