Update: I did order more Quad network cards:
SUN Microsystems 501-6738-10 Gigabit Gigaswift Ethernet:
I did not get this one to work, using 3.3.7 kernel. It does display “probing cassini” for over a minute during startup, but in the end does not detect network adapters.
SUN MICROSYSTEMS 501-5406 QUAD 10/100 ETHERNET:
This one works (with 3.3.7 kernel)! It is displayed as:
“Oracle Corporation Happy Meal 10/100 Ethernet [hme] (rev 01)” in zeroshell.
One problem I found is that it does show link up/down statuses incorrect. But other than that this NIC works fine.
Another NIC just arrived:
Cisco PIX-VAC-PLUS 4-Port Fast Ethernet Card 74-3188-01-4FE-66:
Zeroshell detects it and GUI displays it as:
“Intel Corporation 82557/8/9/0/1 Ethernet Pro 100 (rev 08)”
Link up/down status is displayed right. But data is not transmitted, so this card does not work with 3.3.7 kernel Zeroshell.
So out of total 4 Quad NICs that i have bought, only one works. Well, guess still better than nothing.
I am using Intel D2500CC Atom mainboard, that has dual Intel 82574L gigabit NICs.
